Year 4
Welcome to Year 4, an exciting and important stage in our pupils’ learning journey at St Michael’s Church of England Primary School!
During this year, pupils continue to develop their confidence, independence and curiosity as learners. They build on their knowledge and skills across the curriculum, particularly in reading, writing and mathematics, while being encouraged to think more deeply, ask questions and challenge themselves.
Year 4 is also a time for growing responsibility and resilience. Pupils are supported to become more reflective in their learning and to persevere when faced with new challenges. A key milestone in this year is the Multiplication Tables Check, where pupils demonstrate their fluency and understanding in times tables.
Through a wide range of engaging lessons and experiences, pupils are encouraged to work collaboratively, show creativity and take pride in their achievements.
Rooted in our Christian values—including hope, compassion and endurance—Year 4 is a year where pupils continue to believe and achieve to be the best that they can be.
