Welcome to Year 6—an important and exciting final chapter in our pupils’ journey at St Michael’s Church of England Primary School.
This year is a time for pupils to grow in confidence, independence and resilience as they prepare for the transition to secondary school. As the oldest members of the school, Year 6 pupils take on key roles as leaders and role models, demonstrating our vision to “Believe and achieve to be the best that we can be.”
Throughout the year, pupils are supported and challenged across the curriculum, developing their skills in reading, writing and mathematics, while also engaging in a wide range of enriching experiences. From collaborative learning and problem-solving to memorable events and responsibilities within the school community, Year 6 is a year full of opportunity.
Rooted in our Christian values—including hope, endurance, compassion and trust—our aim is to ensure that every child leaves Year 6 feeling proud of their achievements, prepared for the future and confident in who they are.
