At St Michael’s Church of England Primary School, our ten values are at the core of everything we do. We use these values to be the very best that we can be and achieve our potential in an environment where we feel valued, cared for and secure; an environment that believes in us and we believe in it.

Our vision work is displayed both in the school entrance and within the hall. The welcome display features self-portraits created by children across the school, placed around the world to represent that everyone belongs here and is a valued part of our school community. It reflects our belief that every child is unique, important and able to flourish within God’s world.
Alongside this, our Year 6 children from last year, who are now beginning their journeys in Year 7, are shown travelling in hot air balloons, symbolising moving on towards new opportunities and experiences. As they continue their journey beyond St Michael’s Church of England Primary School, they carry with them the values, memories and aspirations developed during their time here, reminding us that they will always remain part of our school family.
Our Vision:
Believe and Achieve to be the best that we can be!
We believe and achieve in all that we do, supported by our ten Christian values. If we have faith in ourselves and in our community, then God will guide us to be the best that we can be—and we will achieve.
Through this, we flourish: growing in confidence, character, and spirit. This achievement means we lead the best life we can and deepen our Christian understanding of what it means to be part of the Kingdom of God—now
and forever.
As Jesus said, “With God, all things are possible” (Matthew 19:26). With God’s guidance, there is no limit to what we can believe, achieve, and become.
We have high aspirations for our children and we encourage them to aim high whilst fostering respect and care for all. We teach, support and encourage all of our children to achieve their dreams and successes by celebrating individuality together, offering engaging and varied learning opportunities but above all, enjoying all that we do together where we value everyone in our school and wider communities.
By providing an environment in which members of our community are happy, safe, comfortable, motivated and valued; learning will flourish and we will achieve what we all believe we can do and what God wants us to do!
Every year, we depict our school values by looking at what they mean to us, where they are found in the bible and stories and teachings from the bible - these are displayed in our hall so we can see how different they are each year.
Above are our current canvases depicting our values.
We begin each year with a new way to explore what it means to “believe and achieve to be the best that we can be” and how this links to our lives, our Christian values and the teachings of the Bible. As part of a three-year rolling programme, children explore our school vision and Bible quote through a carefully chosen story which helps deepen their understanding of flourishing, community and becoming the person God calls them to be.
This year, we are focusing on the book Here We Are by Oliver Jeffers. The story encourages children to think about the world we share, the importance of kindness and how we can support one another through our actions and choices. This links closely to our key value of koinonia and reminds us that we all have an important place within God’s world.
Our community focus this year includes outdoor Collective Worship opportunities and creating vision boards alongside parents and carers, encouraging children to reflect on their hopes, aspirations and future goals within a supportive community.

Together, at the start of the year, we explore our school vision and Christian values, reflecting on what they mean to us and how we can live them out each day.
Here are our classroom depictions of the school vision, showing how we believe and achieve to be the best that we can be.
Our hall display represents the night sky filled with stars. Each time a child receives a weekly value award, they add a symbol to the display. The stars remind us that every child shines in their own unique way and that, together, we can light up the world through living out our Christian vision and values.
Each Friday, during Celebration Worship, we listen to the song High Hopes. The lyrics encourage children to aim high, persevere through challenges and believe in themselves — reflecting our vision of believing and achieving to be the best that we can be.
